MPNA's Emergency Resource Fair
Mt. Pleasant Neighborhood Association is hosting an Emergency Resource Fair! The goal of the event is to provide simple yet valuable information and resources that help families during an emergency and build resiliency in our neighborhoods. They are bringing together trusted community organizations to present and table for the attendees.
Hosted in partnership with the Capitol Park Goss Neighborhood and San José Neighborhood CERT.
Free raffle prizes, lunch and breakfast, giveaways to first 100 attendees, and kids activities.
RSVP recommended but not required.
While this neighborhood isn’t in District 10, Councilmember Casey believes that our residents should engage and learn from our cross-city neighbors about preparing for emergencies.

CERT 5K Family Fun Run
Join Councilmember George Casey and District 10 Neighborhood CERT to learn about caring for your family and neighbors in emergencies, and run for fun! It’s free to attend and run.
RSVP required to run. If you are just attending only, RSVP is recommended but not required.

Almaden Library Fall Book Sale
Join Friends of the Almaden Library for their seasonal book sale. Find children's books, mysteries, history, crafts, fiction, coffee table books, and biographies, in paperback and hard back!
Non-English children's books are available too, plus music CD’s and movie DVD’s. Cash or credit card accepted.
All proceeds benefit Almaden Library programs and activities.
Almaden School Closure Town Hall
The District 10 Leadership Coalition (D10 LC) and San José District 10 Councilmember George Casey are hosting a public information and listening session about community efforts to stop proposed school closures.
This meeting is not hosted or organized by SJUSD. Board Trustees are invited but not guaranteed to attend.
Background:
The San José Unified School District (SJUSD) Board of Education decided to start a process called “Schools of Tomorrow” that will evaluate closures of some elementary schools and attendance zone changes. This may potentially lead to the closure of either Simonds or Williams Elementary, but they are still determining how to proceed.

Performance at Christmas in the Park
Sign up to perform at Christmas in the Park's Jingle Bell Stage to represent District 10 during Councilmember George Casey’s timeslot!
You will have 20-30 minutes to perform music, dance, art, comedy, or other talents. Individuals or groups allowed.

Community Day at Cahalan Park
Come volunteer with us at the Cahalan Park for a rewarding day of community service! Recommended attire and what to bring:
Choose clothing you will feel comfortable moving around in. Dress for the weather, the event will be held--rain or shine.
Sun hat and Sun screen, Long sleeve shirt and long pants to protect from sun.
Closed toed shoes are strongly recommended.
Filled water-bottle and snack, and a small backpack to carry items in throughout the event.

Hosted by Almaden Valley Community Association, let's celebrate the amazing people who make Almaden Valley shine! A fall book sale hosted by Friends of the Almaden Library. They have children’s books, mysteries, craft books, fiction, coffee table books and biographies. A variety of non-English books are also available. Music CDs and movie DVDs too! Adult hard back books are $3 and adult paperback books are $2. Children’s books have various prices.
